Insights from Hong Kong International Lighting Fair: Beyond Illumination, Toward AI-driven Future

Release Date:2026-10-31

Our team recently attended the 2026 Hong Kong International Lighting Fair. Instead of operating an exhibition booth, we focused on on-site market research and face-to-face meetings with global clients. It was a valuable opportunity for us to connect with partners and capture the latest industry trends.

As a leading supplier of lighting optical solutions, we were impressed by the wide array of scenario-based lighting products showcased at the fair. The exhibition covered road & street lighting, indoor commercial and residential lighting, landscape lighting and architectural lighting.

As we toured the halls, we observed that lighting has evolved from simply providing brightness into customised scene solutions. Products ranging from outdoor municipal lighting lenses to indoor ambient lights and immersive landscape installations prioritise energy efficiency, optical precision, structural optimisation and spatial aesthetics. This echoes the core idea: modern lighting is far more than hardware — it is an integrated solution combining technology, design and application scenarios.

While the industry continues to thrive, one observation stood out amid the smart lighting wave.

We are in an AI-powered era where artificial intelligence is transforming many manufacturing sectors. Nevertheless, fully integrated AI+lighting products and systematic solutions remain rare across the show floor.

Most exhibitors are still concentrating on conventional upgrades: higher luminous efficacy, wired or wireless control improvements, energy saving and appearance redesign. There are limited real-world applications of core AI capabilities, such as adaptive scene adjustment, human-sensing linkage, data-driven light environment optimisation and intelligent energy consumption forecasting.

We believe this represents both an industry gap and a key breakthrough opportunity for lighting manufacturers.

The lighting market is facing intense homogenisation and price competition. Hardware upgrades alone cannot sustain long-term competitive advantages. The next growth driver lies in differentiation enabled by AI.

AI-integrated lighting can deliver personalised smart adaptation: automatically tuning colour temperature and brightness according to surroundings, human activity and scene requirements. It enables precise energy management via big data and builds human-centric light environments for smart cities, commercial spaces and residential settings.

With mature manufacturing chains, strict quality control and rich experience in diverse lighting applications, our company will further explore the combination of optical technology and AI algorithms. We aim to move beyond manufacturing lighting components toward delivering intelligent light environment services.

This visit has not only helped us keep pace with industry developments, but also clarified our R&D and market roadmap.

Moving forward, we will stay committed to optical innovation and actively explore the integration of AI and precision lighting. We strive to develop differentiated, intelligent and high-value lighting solutions, supporting global partners with forward-looking technology and reliable services.

We keep learning, innovating and growing alongside the lighting industry.✨
